EYFS SEN Support Assistant

Teaching Personnel are recruiting energetic and compassionate Teaching Assistants to support pupils within a specialist SEN school in Darwen. This role is focused on EYFS and primary-aged pupils with complex needs and is ideal for individuals who enjoy being active, engaging and hands-on throughout the school day. No two days are the same in this rewarding setting. Staff play a vital role in helping children access learning, develop communication skills and achieve important developmental milestones in a safe and nurturing environment.

The role will involve:

• Supporting EYFS and primary-aged pupils with a range of complex special educational needs

• Providing one-to-one and small group support throughout the school day

• Assisting pupils with communication, sensory and learning activities

• Supporting emotional regulation and positive engagement in learning

• Encouraging independence and the development of life skills

• Working closely with teachers, therapists and other professionals

• Supporting personal care where required

• Remaining active and on your feet for much of the day, including moving between activities and supporting pupils throughout the school environment

We are looking for individuals who:

• Have experience working with children, young people or vulnerable individuals

• Are patient, resilient and able to adapt to changing situations

• Enjoy a practical, active role and are comfortable being on their feet throughout the day

• Have a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs

• Can build positive relationships and create a nurturing learning environment

• Are confident working as part of a multidisciplinary team
