SEND Teaching Assistant

Job Description

Are you a vibrant, proactive SEND Teaching Assistant looking for flexible work that fits around your life?

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking dynamic and enthusiastic individuals for day-to-day, short-term emergency cover, and flexible supply shifts. Based in a wonderful Primary SEND School in Moseley, these roles are perfect for those looking for rewarding work from September onwards. This role is for short term / temporary / flexible for emergency cover.

Whether you want to work two days a week or five, this is your chance to step into a supportive environment, get stuck in, and make a real difference when the school needs you most.

Position: SEND Teaching Assistant (Day-to-Day & Short-Term Supply)

  • Location: Moseley

  • Pay: £95 per day for candidates with a minimum of 3 month's experience supporting children or young people in an educational, care or SEND setting. £100 per day for candidates who hold a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification and have over 12 month's previous experience supporting pupils with SEND including ASC, ADHD, SEMH or SLD.

  • Hours: Flexible shifts (Typically 8:30am - 3:30pm)

  • Start Date: September onwards

What Makes a Candidate Stand Out?

The school loves staff who bring energy and passion to the classroom! You will instantly stand out if you are:

  • Punctual & Reliable: Arriving on time and ready to start the day with a positive attitude.

  • Proactive & Engaged: Someone who doesn't sit into the background-you notice where help is needed and get stuck in.

  • Curious & Communicative: You aren't afraid to ask questions to better understand the children's needs.

  • Child-Centred: Showing a genuine interest in the kids, building quick rapport, and celebrating their wins.

Key Responsibilities

  • Classroom Support: Assist the class teacher by managing behaviour, keeping students engaged, and creating a fun, inclusive learning environment.

  • Personal Care: Provide essential personal care support to students. Please note: You will never be expected to do this alone; another staff member will always be present.

  • Adaptability: Easily slot into different primary classrooms and adapt quickly to the needs of various children with SEND.

Requirements

  • Experience: Previous experience supporting children with SEND (e.g., ASC, ADHD, SEMH, or SLD) is highly valued.

  • Attitude: A vibrant, "can-do" approach with plenty of empathy and resilience.

  • Qualifications: Level 2 or 3 TA qualifications are a plus, but the right attitude and a passion for SEND are what truly matter.

  • Compliance: You must hold an Enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to apply for a new one.

Why Join Tradewind?

  • Ultimate Flexibility: Choose the days you want to work and control your own schedule.

  • Competitive Pay: Earn £95 - £100 per day.
