Tradewind Recruitment are proud to be recruiting on behalf of a welcoming and supportive special needs secondary school in Eccles, who are looking to appoint a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant on a full-time basis.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting young people with additional needs and making a genuine difference in their education and development.

The Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and support staff to provide tailored support to students aged 11-16 with a range of special educational needs, including autism, learning difficulties, communication needs, and social, emotional, and mental health needs.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting students in both classroom and small group settings
  • Assisting with personalised learning activities
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement
  • Helping students develop confidence, independence, and social skills
  • Building strong, supportive relationships with pupils and staff
The Ideal Candidate

The school is seeking someone who is:

  • Patient, caring, and resilient
  • Passionate about working with young people with special educational needs
  • Able to build positive relationships and adapt to individual student needs
  • Experienced in education, care, youth work, or support work (preferred but not essential)
  • Committed to safeguarding and promoting student wellbeing
