Trainee Accountant

A growing accountancy firm based in Central London is looking for a motivated Trainee Accountant to join their team.\n\nThis is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to start or build their career in accounting and finance. You will receive hands-on experience across bookkeeping, accounts preparation, tax, payroll, VAT, and client support while working closely with experienced accountants.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nAs a Trainee Accountant, you will assist with:\n\n * Bookkeeping and maintaining accurate financial records\n\n * Preparing VAT returns\n\n * Processing invoices, receipts, and payments\n\n * Bank reconciliations\n\n * Assisting with payroll preparation\n\n * Supporting the preparation of year-end accounts\n\n * Helping with tax returns and basic tax calculations\n\n * Communicating with clients professionally by email and phone\n\n * Using accounting software such as Xero, Sage, QuickBooks, and Excel\n\n * Supporting senior accountants with day-to-day accounting tasks\n\nRequirements\n\nThe ideal candidate will have:\n\n * A strong interest in accounting and finance\n\n * Good attention to detail\n\n * Strong numerical and organisational skills\n\n * Good communication skills\n\n * Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel\n\n * A willingness to learn and develop\n\n * A professional attitude and strong work ethic\n\nPrevious accounting experience is helpful but not essential.
